Macross F Goods and Super Space-Time Live Ranka Lee with Sheryl Nome

New Macross Frontier goods debut and go on sale early at JOYSOUND’s "Super Space-Time Live: Ranka Lee with Sheryl Nome," which took place on July 27, 2008. Originally, there was only one show scheduled for the Super Live, but to meet fan demands a second show was later added earlier that same day. The second show, just like the first, was an instant sell out. A third live will also take place the first week of August in Osaka, which I would imagine is sold out as well. Macross Frontier is the series that gives this timeless franchise the respect in Japan that it has always deserved since 1982.

This past Sunday, July 27th, was practically an all-day Macross Masturi (festival), and a busy day for yours truly. In the morning, I headed off to Keikyu-Kamata for the first Macross doujin event of the summer season, "Project M." "Project M" is an all Macross themed event mostly full of Boys Love content, but for this Macross lifer, I found plenty of stuff to geek over. By the end of the event, the cosplay area was overflowing with at least one person cosplaying a character from every animated Macross series (except Macross 2, of course). It would have been great to have seen at least one Ishtar cosplayer or doujinshi, but you can’t have everything. If it wasn’t for the extra Super Live that started during the middle of Project M, I suspect the event would have reached capacity.

After the Project M event, I headed over to Zepp Tokyo for the Super Live. I arrived during the middle of the first performance, perfect timing for taking pictures and emptying my wallet on newly released items. Well, enough for now.
