Super Cosplay Fest at Bellbara (billingual)

8/2にベルサール秋葉原(通称ベルバラ)で行われた「超コスプレ博」に行ってきました。ベルバラオープン以来初のコスプレイベントということで、会場は超満員、11時開始だったイベントの入場列は昼過ぎまで途切れることはありませんでした。

I went to the Super Cosplay Festival at Bellesalle Akihabara (called Bellbara in reference to the Japanese title of "The Rose of Versailles") on August 2. This was the first cosplay event at Bellbara, so the hall was extremely crowded, and there was a steady line of people at the entrance from 11 a.m. into the afternoon.

では、イベントのレポートを開始する前に、このベルバラこと「ベルサール秋葉原」について少し説明しておきます。ベルサール秋葉原は、7月15日に秋葉原中央通りの交差点にできた三井住友ビルの地下一階、一階、二階にあるイベントスペースです。聖地秋葉原に大型イベントスペースが登場ということで、早くから大型コスプレイベント開催の期待が持たれており、満を時しての今回の「超コスプレ博」開催となったわけです。

Bellbara is an event space in the basement and bottom two floors of the Mitsui Sumitomo building that opened July 15 in the center of Akihabara. It is a highly visible location right in the heartland of otaku, so everyone was very excited by the large cosplay event there.



会場は地下一階がコスプレダンスパーティー会場、一階がコスプレ会場及び物販スペース、二階が更衣室及び荷物置き場とコスプレスペースとなっていました。また、建物外の一部もコスプレ会場となっており、電気街を行き交う人々の注目を集めていました。

The event was divided into a cosplay dance party in the basement, photo and shopping area on the first floor and a dressing and cosplay space on the second floor. The event spilled out into the street on the first floor, drawing much attention from passers-by in the Electric Town.

今回目立ったのはなんと言っても「ボーカロイド」と「けいおん」のコスプレでした。リンとレンの合わせやユイとミオの合わせが多かった気がします。また、先日新作が封切りとなったエヴァの新キャラ「マリ」のコスプレをしている人も結構いました。

There were so many people cosplaying as Vocaloids or characters from "K-on!" I felt some of them really captured Rin and Ren or Yui and Mio. Mari, the new character from the second "Evangelion" movie, was also well represented.



地下のダンパフロアーも大盛況で、沢山のレイヤーさん達が大音量のアニソンと巨大スクリーンに映ったVJに合わせて踊り狂っていました。僕が30分ほど居合わせた中でかかった曲のラインナップはハヤテ、コジカ、グレンラガン、ハルヒなどのダンス系ミュージックで、そこから先は腐女子向けラインナップになったため撤退しました。

A dance party was incredible. Many cosplayers were dancing to loud anisongs and videos on a big screen. I checked out the line up from "Hayate," "Kojika," "Gurren Lagann" and "Haruhi," but ducked out when the music for fujoshi started.

会場の規模と混み具合からいっておそらく3000~5000人くらいの来場者数と思われた今回のイベントですが、ベルバラのオープニングを祝うものとしては大成功だったのではないでしょうか。

I suppose that about 3,000 to 5,000 people attended this successful celebration of the opening of Bellbara.
